WHAT IS FACIAL GUA SHA?

The Healing Art of Gua Sha

Gua Sha is a healing technique of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

The word “GUA” means to scrape or rub, SHA” refers to stagnant blood or qi that is blocking the proper flow of energy and blood in the pathway of the channel.

In traditional Chinese medicine, qi or chi is energy that flows through the body. Many people believe that a person’s qi must be balanced flowing freely to ensure their health and wellbeing.

It commonly involves using an instrument with a smooth edge to press-stroke or scrape lubricated skin in one direction for the purpose in increasing circulation and releasing stagnant blood and toxins. When more blood and oxygen flow to the area that is treated, the body responds more efficiently and healing can take place.

Although there's Gua Sha for the body. I'll be talking about the benefits of Facial Gha Sha. Which a much more gentle form of traditional Gua Sha.

In Facial Gua Sha a smooth edged tool like Jade Stone is used  to glide on the face with specific movements on the face, neck, chest and shoulders. Following the meridians of the face and lymphatic passage to promote drainage and everything else discussed before.

This aids in igniting this natural healing power, the skin flourishes, develops a fresh healthy glow that radiates from within and results in long-term benefits in the skin by clearing stagnation and accumulation in the channels, enabling the renewal of the lymph, increasing blood circulation, awakening the skin cells, stimulating cell activity and the regeneration of the facial tissue.

Resulting immediately in reduction of fine lines, deep wrinkles, dark circles, puffy eyes and sagging skin by combining a unique blend of facial massage therapies that clears noxious accumulation.

Facial Gua Sha also releases deep-seeded tension, sinus congestion and promotes the free flow of vital nutrients to feed the skin and re-pattern the way it ages.

Both are supported by the foundational importance of connective tissue manipulation and lymphatic drainage.

Facial Gua Sha has become my sacred beauty ritual and has transformed my skin and many of my clients.

Hope you have learned a little more about Gha Sha, and you fall in love with this ancient healing practice as much as I have.
